SONG OF THE BEECH – BOWED LYRE-PSALTERY

SPRING 2025 NEW RELEASE 🌱

Song of the Beech reimagines this ancient instrument with a contemporary approach. Its beech leaf–shaped design echoes the instrument’s enchanting tones. With its 13 stainless steel strings tuned to a pentatonic scale, it offers a resonance where past and present beautifully intertwine.

BOWED PSALTERY – 13 STRINGS TUNED IN YÛ MODE

Its 13 stainless steel strings are gently bowed with a simple bow, offering a soft and intuitive experience for anyone drawn to the rich tones of bowed strings—without the complexity of a violin. Accessible and expressive, it is played slowly, with heart. Song of the Beech invites you to feel and rediscover the raw, vibrant pleasure of sound.

Tuned in Yû mode, a Japanese pentatonic scale inspired by elements of nature (D – E – G – A – B – D – E), each note carries a vegetal and meditative resonance, evoking the rustling of the forest, the breath of the wind, and the silent presence of trees. For a fluid and intuitive exploration of sound, it can be played both with a bow and with the fingers.

Designed as much to be played as to be contemplated, Song of the Beech is a living sound object. Its beech-leaf–shaped design, mounted on a stem and floor stand, makes it a sculptural piece that invites nature into your home.

Draw the bow, and let the echo of time resound.

An instrument that brings a forgotten musical heritage back to life.

A return to raw material, with a wooden design that amplifies natural resonance.

A rich, meditative sound—perfect for relaxation, sound exploration, and intuitive creation.
